Thanks Brooklyn and Braxtton!

Katie is so excited...she met a friend, not just one but two that went to the park with her. She asks almost every day if she can have a friend over or go to the park with a friend. Today she was invited to go to Brooklyn's house. They painted their nails, put glitter on their face, colored princess pictures and lots of other girly things. Later we went to Braxtons football practice and Brooklyn was able to come becuase her brother is on the same team. I took Katie, Marshall, Brooklyn and Braxtton (her other knew friend) to the park to play. I just wanted to share these adorable pictures and thanks Jodee. This is what Katie really needed today. She has had 2 really sad incidents happen while we have been here (2 months to the day). First she was in primary and they were talking about missionary work. They handed out pass along card and said to give it to a friend. Katie raised her hand and said "I don't have any friends" and the conversation went on between the 2, but it was just sad to watch her. The next thing was Katie woke up today and just started crying, I went into her room and she was just sitting there and crying and saying "I miss my Grandma," so after playing with her 2 new best friends it ended ona great note, again Thanks Jodee, Brooklyn and Braxtton for the fun day!!

Bowling League

Fall is coming during the evenings and mornings but during the days we are still about 93 degrees. It doesn't seem that warm outside, but inside my cozy apartment it is deathly warm. Especially since we recently got our first real power bill at $185, lets just say that I limit our AC use and our apartment is ususally 83 degrees. Wes hates it, but he is either gone or sleeping, so I am in control. While it is hot inside we try to get out and do somethings. Yesterday was their first day of bowling league. They had so much fun. They each got to bowl 3 games and have a couch with them the whole time. It is a really good price, Braxton is $5 a week and Katie is $3.50 a week and they go until the week before Christmas. Braxton's high was 96 and Katie was 74. Marshall was a little sad that we wouldn't let him bowl but he got to ride the rides and eat candy. When we got home he found 2 balls and started throwing them around the house and then saying yes and cheering for himself. He is so funny with his little personality and how he copies the older two. As you can see in our pictures his little head is still really bruised and sore. Sometimes he feels it and says owww (which of course makes me feel worse).

I have turned into the crazy mom that has kids going every direction, I don't know what I will do when Marshall is old enough for sports. Starting this week we now have lirary and football on Tuesday, bowling on Wednesday and gymnastics and football on Thursday. I am so glad that Wes is home to be able to go with and/or watch the other kids while I run another one. I am glad to stay busy though, keeps us going!!

call me crazy

So while I have been here in North Platte, I have been a little more bored. With our pool broken and the town shutting down, the kids and I have turned to other things. These pictures are not very good and my camera is dying so these are what you get. Katie is loving these adorable outfits that I have crocheted for her. She loves to play dress up and change her outfits for every different event we are going to. The red dress she loves because it matches hers, she has a black jacket and red dress just like it (thanks Aunt Bob). All of these outfits have little hats, shoes, panties and anything you ocan imagine. They have been so fun to make and give to Katie and watch the joy on her face. For the boys I have been travel car case with a road. They love to play with it and put different cars inside. Braxton didn't know I was making this (and he is a little old for it), but still loves it and plays with it with Marshall. Now for me, my sister in law (Thanks Michelle) found an adorable pattern for slippers. These are so comfortable and warm. I am so excited to make different styles.

Thank goodness it is close to Christmas becuase I can't wait to make different items for people. Katie's little cousins are going to love these outfits, they love dolls and babies almost as much as her. Marshall's little cousins are going to love the cars case. Hopefully I can get it all done plus slippers for the girls. Now that my family knows what they are getting for Christmas, let me know what color and size and what outfits are your favorite and I can start making. Love you all!! I just checked and Christmas is only 90 days away, I can't believe it and this is the first year I am close to ready for Christmas (all done with Katie already :)

Children's Museum

Last week we decided we needed to get out and do something on Wes and Braxton's day off. We noticed when we got here and were trying to do things, that the city of North Platte shuts down after Railfest (which was last weekend). The rides close, Cody Park closes, the go-carts and miniture golf are only open Saturday and everything else. So we decided to try the Childrens Museum. The kids loved it!! We were there for 2 hours and they didn't want to leave. We only touched the rooms a little bit and it seemed like a lot to do. I know there are lots of Childrens Museums and all of them are huge, but in North Platte this felt huge. We decided to splurge and by a season pass (which pays for itself in less than 3 times). I just wanted to show a few pictures of some of the things to do. (I loved the large Operation Game and Wes loved the wall size light bright- not pictured). Notice the nice rough looking kid with the bruises on his face, Marshall is still dong well but still climbing.
