Shooting

For Wes' birthday he bought a couple guns and he still hasn't been out to try them, so we took the kids and he made sure they all worked.  He was hoping that if he shot the really loud ones Marshall would be a little scared of guns, nope only more excited.  He just kept saying "more loud please".  I love the look on Marshall's face,  yes in all of these he is excited.  He is not one to show how excited he is, but does know how to show his angry and upset emotion.  I also loved when Katie was shooting, she kept trying to aim so hard and even had daddy help her but she just couldn't hold the bun still and steady.  Finally Wes said "sweety, you will do better when you get your glasses.  Then you will be able to see better." She was happy with that answer.  Braxton did very well and shot down all 3 targets.  The kids had so much fun and Marshall loves to look at the pictures, and wants to go again.  And yes, Wes did convince me to shoot all the guns, and yes I am a wimp (thanks Jodi) and came home with a bruise on my shoulder.  To my pride, I am on aspirin so I blame the bruise on that not how wimpy I am :)

Omaha Zoo

If you ask most anyone from Nebraska what we should go and do they say the zoo.  So when we went to Omaha we went to the zoo.  The kids had a lot of fun, but honestly I think they would have loved swimming more, but we still had a good time.  The baby giraff was one of Katie's favorite and Braaxton loved the fish and the baby gorilla playing with his mom.  We also all loved the aquarium inside of the zoo and spent the most time there.  Glad we could all get away, even if it was just for 2 days.

our Omaha Motel

The kids were so excited when we were going to Lincoln and Omaha, but they had no idea what we were going to do.  We all went to Lincoln on Wes' day off to go meet up with Uncle Scott and Aunt Janette and have lunch with them.  It was so fun to get to see them, and yes we are planning a trip to their house after I get back from Idaho.  My kids loved visiting with them, although when I got in the car I saw my camera and was so sad I didn't get any pictures.  After we met up with them we drove on and went to Omaha and had a little 2 day vacation.  The kids had no idea this was the pool inside our motel.  The first night we went swimming over 4 hours.  Braxton was even brave enough to go down the 6 story water slide the light tube and the dark tube (and he is afraid of the dark).  He went down many times with Wes and had so much fun.  They also had a bucket of water that would dump every so often and put down 200 gallons of water.  Braxton loved to run underneath when it would dump and see if he could stay standing up.  Katie loved to go on all of the slides, and a little disappointed she couldn't go on the big slides, but still had lots of fun running around and playing.  Marshall loved to play in the kiddie area and go down the 2 slides.  They were all so much fun to watch and very glad we got to go.
